After 30 years in interior design and leadership roles, Amy Cerny launched EPOCHA DESIGN to fulfill a longtime career goal. Based in the Chicagoland market, she has spent the majority of her career in creative and strategic positions, including many years at a leading furniture manufacturer and, more recently, within a major healthcare system.
Early in her professional journey, Amy worked on her first large scale healthcare project during a deeply personal chapter of her life. That experience reshaped her perspective, reinforcing the profound impact that thoughtful design can have on patients, families, and care teams. Today, she continues to focus on healthcare design, finding it deeply rewarding to help create spaces where people heal and professionals do their life’s work.
With a commitment to user centered design and comprehensive project management, Amy founded EPOCHA DESIGN to support healthcare interiors teams in navigating complex challenges. The firm fills critical gaps, resolves pain points, and meets requirements that clients may not be equipped to address alone. Today, EPOCHA DESIGN is a dedicated partner that enhances design strategies, elevating service support, and strive to make a meaningful impact on the healthcare design industry.

At EPOCHA DESIGN, we offer space planning, design consulting, and project coordination with clarity and creative intent at every phase. Our modular, detail-focused approach adapts seamlessly to technical workflows and project-specific needs, whether we're refining a floor plan, coordinating with vendors, or supporting design development. We also provide targeted project management, tailoring our involvement to meet specific goals and timelines while supporting the way each project gets done. We integrate easily, fill gaps, and move projects forward with solutions that feel intentional, aligned, and responsive.
